Editing your Domains DNS Records

For your website to load, you will need to point your domain to your servers by editing your domains DNS records. Before this, ensure that your domains name servers are pointing to hosting provider's default name servers.

  1. Login to your Domain provider Account.
  2. Click on the DNS Management option.
  3. Click on "Manage DNS".
  4. Click on "Add A Record" and enter the IP Address provided by your web host. (Note - If your web host has provided you multiple records, add the records one-by-one similarly.)
  5. You can similarly add the other DNS record types.

That’s it. You have just pointed your domain to your hosting package. It could take anywhere between 6-8 hrs for your website to be functional due to DNS Propagation.
